About Travel Fastpitch

The Traveling Fast Pitch Softball program is designed to give a higher level of competition for the more avid player. Players develop confidence, skills, and teamwork while competing with teams representing other area communities.

Registration is in January for the summer season. There are five levels at which teams may be formed: 10 & under, 12 & under, 14 & under and 16 & under. The age level is determined based on the participant's age at December 31 of the previous year.

Eagan Fastpitch offers two types of league programs: League Only and Tournament Teams.

League Only: Offered at the 10U & 12U level. This is a great league for those looking for more than In-House Softball but don't want to give up their summer weekends. These teams will play one game per week starting early May and then two games a week starting in June. They will also participate in the state qualifier tournament the last weekend in June. Some teams do qualify to play in the state tournament. Practices begin mid-April.

This is still a traveling program so you will have to travel outside of district 196 for games. Girls will need to purchase sliding shorts, a glove, batting helmet, softball socks and cleats. There are no tryouts for league only teams, but there will be one day of evaluations that all players, parents and coaches will attend.

Register early as there will be a cutoff. You will be put on a waiting list after registration ends.

Tournament Traveling Teams: Teams compete in the Tri County League with games during the week nights, and 4 to 5 weekend tournaments. A number of past teams have qualified for, played in, and won State and National Tournaments.

We will have 10U / 12U / 14U / 16U teams. Tryouts will be conducted and will be based on skills in hitting, infield, outfield, and pitching. Players not selected will have the opportunity to play on an EAA In-House Softball slow-pitch team or a League Only team. Girls will need to purchase sliding shorts, a glove, batting helmet, softball socks and cleats.

Parents from League Only, Tournament Team and the MN Stars will need to volunteer up to 8 hrs at either the Eagan Down n Dirty Tournament or the Northern National Tournament we host in July. The revenue from these tournaments help keep costs down and pays for the dome time that all Eagan fastpitch players can utilize.
